My horological education started in 1967 attending the 2-year full time British Horological Institute sponsored course at Hackney Technical College. This course offered training in both watch and clock making with the time being split between the workshop, horological theory and technical drawing.
The examination was set by the B.H.I leading to qualification.
On leaving collage I worked for Aubrey Brocklehurst in the Cromwell Road, West London. A well established dealer in fine Antique clocks, where my education in the repair and restoration of antique clocks was completed.
In 1971 I formed a business partnership and started the Clock Clinic in Putney. This was an Antique Clock sales and restoration business. I was the manager and ran the workshop for 10 years building the business to be successful, profitable, and well respected.
In 1980 having met my wife Maxine we decided to move to the country so we found ourselves in Kent. We lived and worked there for nearly 30 years.
In 2012 we decided to move to the West Sussex town of East Grinstead. Our home and workshop are to be found in the historic High Street opposite Church Lane .
In 2017 we started a new venture with our son David. We have opened a shop at 74 High Street were we deal with all watch and clock repairs.
David is an Omega certified watch maker and the workshop is an official Omega certified service center.
Below are the before and after images of a turret clock and longcase clock restoration project. I carry out work throughout the West Sussex area.
